Hello There!

So I have been doing so much crafty stuff lately and I haven't posted any of it!

I wanted to say hello and just can't wait to upload some pictures as soon as I get my camera back from my friend :D

Organization and Resolutions

So I am doing several things this year. I have been on Craftster for over 4 years now (in December 2010 it will be 5 years!) and I just love the site. There are so many helpful people on there. You can also find just about any craft and creative process that you want to know about.

There are plenty of craft-a-longs on craftster as well. I will be participating for a few until I get tired of them. A craft-a-long is a thread on craftster where several individuals decide to craft along the same (often lose) guidelines and post pictures of their crafts. I will of course update here as well as on Craftster. I am going to be doing the 50 crafts for 2010 and the stash busting craft-a-long. The 50 crafts will give a timeline while the stash busting one will help me stay on budget this year.

Some of my goals for 2010

2. PDF Tutorials for Teen Center Programs
3. Fabric Gift Bags for Next Christmas
4. Begin an Etsy Store
5. Create a logo and personal brand
6. Art for my Senior Seminar

There is much more that I will accomplish this year, this is just a taste for now.

New Etsy Shop

Okay! I have been super busy this year. Not olnly have I moved, started my senior year of college and taken a few Spanish courses. But I have finally gotten into the world of online selling. I know right! It first started with selling a few thigns on half.com. But now Ill be adding to an etsy shop. Right now I don't have any pictures but Ill be updating here a lot more frequently. My lovely blog readers will be the first to know if I have a sale, or special right here in this space.

In other news, I searched 'one crafty army bride' in google and my site was the first to pop up (besides the US army site, but does that really count?). These are exciting times.

My next big project.

So I spent most of my Tuesday evening dying this yarn. I have work this weekend but hopefully sometime this weekend I might rinse out the yarn and let it dry. I am a little nervous as to how well the colors will come out. this is the first time I have dyed yarn. So I am letting the dye set (translation: I got distracted and haven't had a chance to actually see what happened) I have done tie-dye and I used the same method of mixing for the dye. This is all 100% cotton yarn and it was all white when I started. So here is hoping :)

Transfering Power

This is a test post to make sure that I have done everything right. I needed to change my email and this sure is a lot more work than I thought it would be. But enjoy this photo ;)

Yay! It snowed here yesterday and I went out for a tiny bit to shoot pictures. But the cold chased me back inside. That is OK though, I got some funny pictures of my mom cleaning off her car. And this one. I really liked this one so I thought I should share :)

Road Trip!

So I had a wonderful time in Georgia and don't really have much time to post photos. But this one is so cute I couldn't resist! Now I am home and I really want to clean my room... I left it in such chaos. Ill post more on that tomorrow! I need to get to bed :)

My Project 365 photos can be found on my flickr. This is one of my favorites so far :) Somehow January 3rds photo disappeared but I will find it and upload it too, for now I am going to sleep.

Projects and Other Things

If only I could be back here right now. I took this while on my road trip and wonderful vacation in Georgia. I have decided to attempt Project 365 which is explained better on Becky Higgins' Blog. I saw the project in the Creating Keepsakes magazine January 2009 issue and really liked the way they scrapbooked the photo for each day.

I don't have any completed layouts as of yet. And I defiantly couldn't afford the kit which had problems anyway. So I have decided to make my own method. I will use the layout/sketch that the project's page protectors make but on my own 12 x 12 paper. This a great first project to break into 12 x 12 scrapbooking as I have only done 8 x 8 so far. I will use the top four photos in 3.5 x 5 size with the journaling blocks along the bottom probably 3.5 X 2 in size.

I haven't completely made up my mind as not every page is going to be the same along the bottom. I have some great premade tag pads made by K&Company and ColorBok that I will be using as well. All in all my pages will be unique for each weeks photos. I also have decided to start with January 1st, I will just go from Thursday to Wednesday on each two page layout. Overall I will not push too hard for this challenge, and I find myself with to many things to take photos of each day. I may get around to posting them here along with the completed layouts, I might not. Right now I have other things to focus on. Like school and my living area :) I will make a new post for the photos I have so far.

Exhausted

So I finally made it home after the long ten hour drive from Georgia. Good thing I am tired it means I will sleep well tonight. I am sad to leave Hector and not be on vacation anymore. But I am very excited to start the new semester on January 19. Until then it is cleaning, laundry and more preparation for this new year.

Finally Home

So this photo is from Hector's graduation day. He looks so cute with his father and two younger brothers. After picking him up we went to visit his family in Florida and that is where I am now. I don't want this to end, I am too happy :)

Hey! I spent a few hours this afternoon walking on the Noland Trail and taking photos. Then I went to target and got them scanned. Still using my mom's camera for fun. I know photography is over but my photographic journey is only beginning. Can't you just imagine sitting on those benches chatting about anything and everything? I can't wait until December 15th. Until then I will be imagining long hikes in the woods as far away from civilization as I can get, all with my sweet heart <3

Less than 40 days!

Gyah! There are less than 40 days until I get to see Hector! I am so excited! I got so much accomplished today too. It must be the research paper looming on the horizon that makes me get so much done. My room is so clean and I have a new layout finished for my scrapbook! XD

Mapping my walks.

This is where I plan on walking before school. Since my classes are pretty early, I will have to wake up and actually go. This tool is pretty neat, I might use it for other walks/runs in the future.

First Post!

Hello blogland!

I originally wanted a blog for my beloved to keep up with what I am doing in my life. He is currently in boot camp and can't access this blog, but once he gets to Advanced Training he will read it every day ;P I do send him letters every day, but there is only so much I can cram into that tiny envelope!

I also wanted a blog to share my stuff! I have been using craftster for so long that I cant remember when I started there. But, I have all of my posts and things spread out on different boards! I decided that here would be a better place to store them all together.

Don't worry I am going to be perking this place up soon with a new heading and all that cute stuff. Hopefully Ill get it right the first time so I wont gather any haterz (thats right, I said haterz with a Z). So stay tuned. He will have a lot of catching up to do.

Edited to add: I updated the colors, I just couldn't stand it being so plain.
